Terms of service
These terms govern the hosting service provided at r2d2hosting.com (“the service”, “we”, “us”). In force from 1 January 2026.
1. Scope
The service is a single shared hosting plan, described in full on the hosting page. All prepaid terms carry identical features; only the monthly rate differs. Placing an order means you accept these terms.
Prices shown on the site are final and include value added tax at the statutory rate of 21%. Amounts excluding VAT are shown alongside the price list. Invoices are issued in the currency chosen at the time of ordering.
2. Orders and payment
An order submitted through the website is not binding. The contract comes into existence when we confirm the order by e-mail and the invoice is paid. Confirmation normally arrives within one business day.
Payment is made in advance for the whole chosen term of 1, 12 or 36 months. There is no setup or activation fee. The rate is fixed for the entire prepaid term.
We may decline an order, in particular where the application clearly does not belong on shared hosting. In that case we say so and return any payment already received in full.
You may move to a different term at any time. The unused proportion of what you have already paid is credited against the new invoice.
3. Refund
Within 30 days of the account being created you may cancel for any reason or none. We refund the full amount within 14 days, to the account the payment came from. Domain registration fees already paid to a registrar are the one exception.
4. Availability
We target availability of 99.9% per calendar month. Planned maintenance announced by e-mail at least 48 hours in advance, faults caused by your own application, and events outside our control are not counted as downtime.
If we miss the target, you are entitled to a credit of 10% of the monthly price for each started hour of downtime beyond it, up to the monthly price of the service. Ask for it within 30 days and we apply it to the next invoice.
5. Backups and your data
Backups run daily and are kept for 14 days on separate storage. Restores are available from the control panel and, on request, from us, at no charge. Backups are a convenience and not a substitute for a copy you keep yourself, off the hosting.
Your content is yours. You can export it at any time. We do not inspect it beyond what running and securing the service requires, and our liability for data loss is limited to the price of the service for the period in which the loss occurred.
6. Acceptable use
Using the service, you agree not to:
- host content that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights;
- send unsolicited bulk e-mail, or let your application be used to send it;
- attack, scan or attempt to gain access to other systems;
- leave known-vulnerable software running unpatched where it endangers other accounts;
- consume shared resources in a way that stops the server serving everyone else.
Where something is seriously wrong we may limit or suspend the account. Unless waiting would make it worse, we tell you first and give you reasonable time to fix it. Abuse reports go to abuse@r2d2hosting.com.
7. Ending the service
One e-mail from the address registered on the account is enough. The service runs to the end of the paid period and does not renew on its own — we write 21 days before it ends and wait for your answer. We may end the contract with three months' notice, returning the unused part of what you paid.
After the service ends we keep your data for another 30 days so you can download it, then delete it irreversibly.
8. Privacy
What we collect: the name or company name, billing address, company and VAT identification numbers, e-mail address, the details of the service you ordered, invoicing records, plus IP addresses and technical logs generated by running the service.
Why: to run the service and support it, to invoice it, to meet accounting and tax obligations, and to keep the platform secure.
How long: for the duration of the contract, and afterwards for as long as tax law requires accounting records to be kept — normally ten years. Technical logs are kept for six months.
Who else sees it: the datacenter operator and the domain registrar, only to the extent needed, and the accountants who process the invoices. Nothing is sold, and nothing is transferred outside the European Union.
Your rights: access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. An e-mail from the address registered on the account is enough; we deal with it within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Cookies: this site sets only the cookies it needs to work — your language and currency choice. There is no analytics, no advertising and no cross-site tracking.
9. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms and will announce a change by e-mail at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, you may end the contract before that date and we return the unused part of what you paid.
